Work Notice: Bedford Road (between Tompkins Avenue and Wheeler Avenue) and Wheeler Avenue (between Bedford Road and Manville Road) Pavement Marking Replacement

Bedford Road and Wheeler Avenue pavement marking (i.e. crosswalks, stop bars and double yellow center line) replacement is anticipated to be completed on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 (weather permitting).  The roadway traffic painting will be performed by a sub-contractor to Petrillo Contracting, Inc. (i.e. Consolidated Edison permanent restoration contractor).  This work is associated with the Bedford Road and Wheeler Avenue milling and re-surfacing completed on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Work will be permitted from 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  On-street angled parking will be restricted on the west side (right side of road driving towards Bedford Road) of Wheeler Avenue.  “No Parking” signs will be placed on Wheeler Avenue within the affected parking stalls.  The pavement marking installation is required to start during daytime hours and warmer temperatures for proper drying of the new traffic paint on the roadway.

The Contractor will provide work zone traffic control to maintain one-way vehicular traffic flow during placement of the traffic striping.  Sidewalk access will not be impacted, and will be safely maintained for the public.  The Contractor will work to minimize construction impacts during their operations.
