New York State Department of Transportation’s Saw Mill River Parkway Bridge Work

The NYSDOT has initiated what’s known as their Lower Westchester Bridge Bundle project. This consists of upgrades to two bridges on the Saw Mill River Parkway, which includes the replacement of roadway around the Marble Avenue exit. This particular area of the Saw Mill will be elevated to meet 100-year flood projections, and will include a 1.3-mile stretch of newly constructed roadway designed to divert water and mitigate settling.

Local Impacts:  Pre-construction work is scheduled to begin in November, with the entire project expected to conclude in the fall of 2022. NYSDOT does expect lane closures, but will keep at least one lane open in both directions at all times. There will be periodic closing of the Marble Avenue exit, however this will only occur at night. During these times, traffic will be directed to the Grant Street exit. NYSDOT will communicate information about future detours as the project progresses.
