Title: Lot Coordinator
Commitment: year-round, two to three shifts per month, of 3 hours on Saturdays, at the Village’s Pleasantville Farmers Market
OVERVIEW:
The Parking Lot Coordinator safely directs cars to available parking in a busy lot and monitors shopper safety at the Pleasantville Farmers Market on Saturdays. Two coordinators work as a team, each with a 3.0 - 3.5 hour shift. Tasks include the direction of traffic and providing a tone of hospitality to shoppers. There are physical requirements for this position (details below). The Lot Coordinator works as a part-time employee of the Village of Pleasantville Police Department, with guidance from the Market Manager re: scheduling and on-site issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- direct traffic to ensure driver and pedestrian safety in Memorial Plaza parking lot
- provide services in the main parking lot used by shoppers of the Pleasantville Farmers Market during peak hours, typically 8:00-11:30 in spring/summer/fall, and 9:00 – 12:00 in winter
- represent the Village in a positive manner by welcoming arriving shoppers
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ability to work Saturdays in all weather conditions, year-round
- comfortable standing for several hours at a time
- reliable, punctual, mature, and cheerful
- access to reliable transportation
COMPENSATION:
- $22 per hour
