COVID-19 Local Update - May 18, 2021


COVID Update:

Governor Cuomo has announced that as of Wednesday, 5/19, New York State will adopt CDC guidelines regarding mask wearing and social distancing. Please note the following:

  • Masks are still required on public transportation, nursing homes, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, schools, and healthcare facilities.
  • Private businesses have the ability to implement additional guidelines.
  • Immunocompromised and unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask and social distance.

Further guidance is expected from the NYS Department of Health this week.

Vaccines:
Approximately 66% of those 18+ years of age in Pleasantville are vaccinated. Westchester County reports that 47% of eligible residents have been fully vaccinated. According to Westchester County 56% of residents have received at least their first shot.
