Department
Description
Village Board of Trustees
The Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Village, and along with the Board of Trustees, adopts local laws, annual budgets, and manages the business of the Village.
Office of the Village Administrator
The Village Administrator is appointed by the Village Board of Trustees to serve the Village as its full-time Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The Administrator is responsible for the coordination of all municipal operations of the Village on a day-to-day basis. In addition to preparing and presenting annual operating budgets to the Board of Trustees, the Administrator plays an important role in assessing the adequacy of the Village's human, technological, and physical resources to ensure that operations are efficient and cost effective.

The Village Administrator and the Village Board meet weekly to engage the public and to review the status of a variety of projects, administrative, and fiscal matters. The Administrator takes direction from the Village Board and is responsible for developing implementation strategies to realize the Board's objectives.

Building Inspection and Code Enforcement
The Building Inspector is a state certified professional responsible for inspecting and issuing permits for new construction, renovations, HVAC and plumbing systems. Compliance inspections related to Fire Codes and Property Maintenance Codes are also under the purview of the Building Inspector. The Building Inspector also serves as the Zoning Officer of the VIllage and therfore interprets the Zoning Code of the Village.
Real Property Tax Assessment
The Village Assssor determines the market value of all land and improvements upon land within the Village of Pleasantviille for purposes of establishing assessments. Assessments are the basis for distribution of taxes.
Treasurer's Office and Finance Department
The Village Treasurer is appointed by the Village Board and has the authority to manage all public funds. The Treasurer works with a staff of professionals who are assigned segregated duties within the finance department such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, internal auditing, sale of parking permits, collection of water rents and property taxes.
The Pleasantville Police Department
The Chief of Police and twenty-four sworn personnel provide security, assistance, and support to the Pleasantville community all hours and days of the year.

Senior Citizen Advocacy and Outreach
Outreach services, recreational and social programs, on-site nutrition and senior advocacy are a few of the many services offered by the Village and enjoyed by our senior residents.
Office of the Village Clerk
The Village Clerk is appointed by the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the custodial care of all public records. The Clerk also issues numerous permits, licenses, and certificates. Administration of all claims against the Village, coordination and oversight of VIllage Elections, and assistance with Freedom of Information Requests are other important functions performed by the Village Clerk.
The Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works maintains all public roads, utilities such as sanitary sewer and water systems, public spaces and parks, street lights, street trees, sidewalks infrastructure, buildings and grounds.
Justice Court
Justice Court convenes weekly and hears criminal and civil complaints. The Village Justice is elected to a four year term. The Court Clerk's office maintains the Court's calendar, records the disposition of cases, and collects fines.
The Recreation Department
Recreational sports, intergenerational programs, summer camp and swimming are some of the more popular program offerings. Community events such as the farmer's market, festivals, parades and contests are organized under the Recreation Department.

Tax Collection
Village taxes are levied on June 1st annually and are payable in two equal installments.
Parking Permits
Parking permits for commuter lots are sold at Village Hall. Sales are restricted to residents and local businesses only. Use this link for information on availability, prices, and locations of permit lots.
