When and Where are Tax Payments Due? (Village, Town, School)
Village Taxes may be paid in two installments. The first half of Village Tax is due by July 1st and second half by December 31st. If either day is not a regular business day, then taxes can be received the first business day thereafter. Taxes can be paid by mail or at Village Hall, 80 Wheeler Avenue. For questions regarding Village taxes call Olga Salvato at 769-1997.
Town/County Taxes are due in April. These taxes are paid to The Town of Mount Pleasant, 1 Town Hall Plaza in Valhalla, NY. For questions regarding Town/County taxes, call Vicki Anderson at 742-2348.
School Taxes are due in September and January and are paid to the Town of Mt. Pleasant, 1 Town Hall Plaza in Valhalla. For questions regarding School Taxes, call Vicki Anderson at 742-2348.
What happens if my bank is late on paying my taxes or if the mail is delivered late?
Should your bank fail to pay your taxes on time, or not at all, you are personally liable for any late penalties. In accordance with guidelines from the State Comptroller, it is the responsibility of the property owner to know when property taxes are due. Unfortunately, even late delivery of your tax bill by the Postal Service does not absolve you from any penalties. Should you have any inquiries regarding School or County tax deadlines, please telephone the Town Tax Receiver at 742-2348. If you have questions or concerns regarding Village Taxes, please contact Olga Salvato at 769-1997
